Well, they said to show up rain or shine, and we did! Although the rain sprinkled down on us at different times this morning, no one, especially the dogs, seemed to mind!
The Washington Animal Rescue League’s annual 5K Fun Run & 2-mile walk with dogs was held at American University (my alma mater!) for the second year in a row. There was good music provided by Mix 107.3, and lots of dog-friendly vendors.
I fell in love with every single dog that was there, which is quite typical of me! Almost all the dogs were rescues, many of them adopted from WARL. My heart overflowed with happiness to see all these wonderful animals in loving homes and part of great families. It was so good to see that there is hope for animals!
I want to thank the WARL for putting together such a fantastic event and allowing me to volunteer to photograph it. I am still smiling thinking about all those fantastic dogs running around the quad, playing, and licking everyone in sight. A special congrats and thank you to Erin Greenfield for putting so much time and effort into this event.
If you’re interested in adopting a cat or dog, please check out WARL … they are an amazing organization.
