The Atlantic Hosts "The Meal of a Lifetime" at Founding Farmers

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day The Atlantic hosted a wonderful dinner party at Founding Farmers in DC. I had never been there, but WOW. It is awesome!

Founding Farmers offers farm-inspired American true food and drink in a modern, casual and eco-friendly setting. They offer homemade and ’scratch-made’ traditional American classics inspired by the heartland. It is a fantastic place to eat!
They are dedicated to environmentally friendly practices and are DC’s first LEED (Gold) certified restaurant. We are a Certified Green Restaurant, and offset their greenhouse gas emissions through Carbonfund.org. So cool! The executive chef, Al Nappo is a great guy and I loved every dish I was lucky enough to try.
I enjoyed listening between courses to Corby Kummer, the food editor at The Atlantic, discuss each dish brought out, where it’s from, and why it’s important to eat local.
Thanks to The Atlantic for letting me photograph this unique event!
