When I think about the games I played as a kid, the one that comes to mind first is being a teacher. Teaching class, making lesson plans, giving quizzes, handing out stickers and candy to the A+ ‘students’ (my brother, the neighbor kids and possibly my cat Mitzie, who, true story, is still around!).
In the back of my mind, I always knew that, in some capacity, I’d like to teach. And last month I was given an awesome opportunity to create and teach a class.
The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center will be hosting my class- “Photographing Your Life” on three Sundays in April and May. The class is for photographers of all levels, ages, and interests. You can bring a point and shoot or an SLR. We’ll be going over the basic rules of photography (so you can break them later!) and spending the last half of each class shooting and putting those techniques into action. There will be time for Q&A, sharing of photos and ideas, and lots and lots of hands on practice.
I am so excited to share my love and passion for photography to the community I live in. If you’re interested in learning more or signing up (yay!) here is the link. (look under ‘photography’ courses)
The Delaplaine provides the Frederick region with educational opportunities and experiences in the visual arts through classes, exhibits and programs.
