Frederick County Public Library’s Read a Book Ball

Happy Monday, friends. Another weekend passed us by quickly. Something we do every weekend, well, every day, is read. We are a house of readers, and Max is now one, too!

Growing up, we’d all hang out as a family… but in our own corners and chairs, curled up with our book of choice. It’s just what we did. (Can anyone else relate?)

If you spend any amount of time in our house (which, uhm, you don’t, because #pandemic) but you’ll learn two things about our kid right away: he loves construction and he loves books. And when you can combine his two favorite things? He is SO HAPPY!

Right now our favorites are “Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site” and “Buildablock.” Both are, spoiler alert, about construction equipment. They are read at least twice a day. He knows if you skip a page. Have any new books we should check out? (I’d love something… fresh?!)

Our library has a very special event coming up on Saturday that I wanted to share. The Read a Book Ball, a Novel event benefiting Frederick County Public Libraries. It’s easy to participate!

RSVP to the Read a Book Ball by making a donation, in any amount, benefiting the Library’s Greatest Need Fund. On August 15, the day of the event, join thousands of others in our community in a celebration of libraries and literacy. You can read whatever you want, wherever you want, for as long as you want. It’s up to you! (Max will of course be reading about construction- I’m sure you’re shocked.)
