I can’t even begin to describe how I feel about yesterday’s wedding. In all seriousness, it was one of the best events I’ve ever been to. I am blown away by how much people can truly love one another. I know, I know, that sounds sooooo incredibly corny, but as I drove back to DC this afternoon, I couldn’t help but think that this is the way things are supposed to be.It wasn’t love at first sight for Beth and Frank. In fact, Beth never imagined a life with Frank when she first met him. But they met up years after that initial meeting at a mutual friend’s wedding and they saw each other much differently this time around.
Their wedding was so them- a small, low-key affair. 50 friends and family in the middle of nowhere. The church was one room- with no indoor plumbing. Beth wore her mom’s wedding dress. No scheduled events, just two families hanging out, celebrating the love of a special couple.
I can’t even tell you how lucky I feel to have been witness to this weekend. Not only were we high in the hills of beautiful Shenandoah Valley, but I made 50 new friends, young and old.
And if you’re ever looking for an awesome weekend getaway from DC (a two hour drive) please check out the Lost River Guest House– it was the coolest place!
Beth and Frank- how do I even begin to tell you how honored I was to be a part of your wedding weekend? Thank you so much. Enjoy your Mediterranean honeymoon cruise and please keep in touch!
