Yesterday was one of those wedding days that reminded me exactly why I love photographing small weddings.
An Intimate Wedding on Capitol Hill
E + J were married in the sweetest Washington, DC, micro-wedding at a beautiful church on Capitol Hill. They were surrounded by just the people closest to them, and the entire day felt intimate, meaningful, and completely personal.
Ceremony + Reception site: St. Monica & St. James Episcopal Church
Catering: Corcoran Caterers
Every part of their ceremony felt intentional. From the music they chose to the readings they shared, nothing was there simply because it was “what you do” at a wedding.
It all felt completely them.
That’s one of the things I love most about photographing micro weddings. With a smaller guest list and fewer expectations, couples have the freedom to create a wedding day that truly reflects who they are.
E + J did exactly that.
A Gorgeous Summer Wedding Day in Washington, DC
And somehow, in the middle of August in DC, the weather decided to cooperate too!
No oppressive humidity. No 100-degree temperatures. Just an absolutely gorgeous summer day on Capitol Hill.
After their ceremony, we had the chance to capture portraits and all those little just-married moments that make an intimate wedding day so special.
Washington DC Micro Wedding Photography
As a Washington DC micro wedding photographer, these are exactly the kinds of celebrations I love to document.
Small weddings give couples the chance to slow down, be present, and spend their wedding day surrounded by the people who matter most.
E + J’s day was intimate, meaningful, joyful, and full of love.
Congratulations, E + J! It was such an honor to photograph your Washington DC micro wedding and document such a beautiful beginning to your marriage.
