200 years of Science, Service, and Stewardship

Well, it’s been quite a year at NOAA! I have had the honor of documenting the 200th year of NOAA. It’s been a blast, and I cannot believe it’s been an entire year!

I’ve been to Maryland, DC, Virginia, Alabama, Colorado, Texas, and more to photograph events celebrating the special year in NOAA’s history. It’s hard to believe that one government science agency is involved in studies as varied as the heat from the sun, guarding our natural resources in the sea, measuring melting ice caps in the arctic, geodetic surveys, and the weather. It’s totally wild, and I am proud to be part of a little slice of it.

The collage above is one image from each event I went to this year. Yesterday was the closing ceremony of the 200th in Silver Spring. It was bittersweet. I’m ready to move on to a new project, but man, this was a good one!
