Yet another fantastic wedding.
Laura and Jonathon are such a cool couple. Their wedding was unique and different, but just perfect for them. It was a joy to photograph.
These guys had a perfect Saturday in DC- not too hot, not too cold. And yes, the outside ceremony was moved inside at the last minute due to the threat of rain, but it didn’t seem to phase anyone.
Laura and Jonathon love art and are quite creative. This was seen in every part of their wedding- the guest book was an art book where guests could sign on a page, the bridesmaids had fans instead of bouquets, the guys wore different suits and the girls wore different dresses…. the list goes on and on. Their wedding color was purple, which is so different, but it worked perfectly. And Laura seriously looked like a goddess in her dress. I’m so not kidding!
After the sweet ceremony, the guests enjoyed a nice cocktail hour filled with champagne, toasts, and lots of good food. Oh, the food. Yum. At the reception Jonathon’s 16 year-old sister sang a beautiful rendition of “At Last” that had everyone on their feet.
I loved that these two were up for anything. My assistant Kim and I were filled to the brim with ideas for photographs and they were all for it- got to love that! I really enjoyed doing the “formals” with them- they were laid back and totally in love- they just enjoyed the special moments with their friends and family and took it all in.
I would be amiss if I didn’t mention all the fantastic vendors I met on Saturday:
Arts Club of Washington– A great place to have a wedding- the maître d’ Dwaine, is an amazing host- if you ever have an event there, you won’t be disappointed!
Burnett Thompson Music– the fantastic jazz group that took my breath away!
Ray Bugnosen of The Ballroom Dance Company- everyone was dancing the steps in a matter of minutes and having a lot of fun!
Laura and Jonathon, I wish you both the best! Enjoy your honeymoon!
