Sara and Tyger had a lovely DC wedding on Valentine’s Day. I’ve been looking forward to their wedding for a long time- since we met last July! It was also my first wedding of 2009- yay!
The day began at Hotel Palomar
. It’s one of my fave hotels to do getting ready shots- it’s funky and fun and everyone is so nice! Sara was so calm and collected, and all her friends were, too. I enjoyed the vibe, and thought it was a great way to start the wedding.
Then it was off to Christ Church
, but not without the help of Chariots for Hire
. Limos and charter busses got all the guests to this beautiful church in style. Norm
, my favorite bagpiper (I get to see him a lot!) was piping in front of the church to greet the guests.
Although I really do like Christ Church, they are insanely strict about photography- as in no photos during the ceremony! So I got to grab Sara with her dad walking down the aisle, Sara and Tyger at the front, and then they cut you off. Crazy! It was hard to just sit in that gorgeous church, cameras on my lap, waiting for the service to end!
After the ceremony, we did some family and bridal party photos outside, until their awesome antique ride rolled up- a 1964 Rolls Royce from Regal Limousine
Yeah… I got to ride in it 🙂 So Sara, Tyger, myself and our awesome driver Kevin cruised around DC to do a few photos. And we got some great ones!
Kevin dropped us off at the reception just in time to enjoy the cocktail hour at the Arts Club of Washington
. This is truly one of the nicest places to have a wedding in DC- it’s beautiful, it’s always changing (new art every month!), and you seriously cannot beat the service. I can’t say nice enough things about this place!
Sara and Tyger were toasted by family and friends during dinner, and then it was time to rock it out. There’s no better band to get the party started than Millennium
! I had such a blast photographing all the dancing and singing going on! Tyger definitely wins the award for rocking out the hardest! 🙂
S&T, I had so much fun with you! Have a great time on your honeymoon!
And a shout out to a few more vendors at the wedding who made this an amazing day:
+ Lauren Ogden, makeup
The Palomar hotel rooms were made for dress shots 🙂
The groomsmen all wore bow-ties, but only Tyger knew how to tie them!
I love this shot of Tyger tying his best man’s tie
The boys before the church service
Norm, the bagpiper!
8th graders love the newlyweds!
The paparazzi! It was too cute!

Travis Tucker, one of the singers in Milennium, with Sara.
Travis was a 2004 finalist on American Idol!
Rockin’ it out till the very end
