Rend & Hayder- Married!

Last night I had the wonderful job of capturing Rend and Hayder’s traditional Iraqi Muslim ceremony.  I am so honored that I was able to be there and to photograph all the amazing details and traditions.  I met so many great people, who so many amazing stories.

I only wish I knew arabic (The five phrases I learned while I was traveling in Egypt were just not enough!) so that I could have better understood what was going on.  It was so beautiful and wonderful and I am so happy that I got to be a part of the experience!
Enjoy these photos!
The amazing table!  It was so ornate and beautiful!
Rend getting ready- isn’t she stunning?
A few quick photos before the ceremony begins
Rend and her family were so sweet- there were so many sweet moments like this
Wow.  No words!
The boys arrive!
Loved the details
The boys watch from the other room until the “I Do’s”… then the men and women can party together
Rend just looked so gorgeous… I couldn’t stop taking shots of her
Crazy in love!
Time to change into a fabulous dress
Bride and groom!
The rings!
One of the many (awesome!) traditions in Iraqi culture is that the bride receives jewelry from the guests.  I loved that she put on every piece (except all the earrings!) and showed it all off.
Time to celebrate!
Gotta love that smile 🙂
