I want to thank all of you who have e-mailed me today about the great article that ran in today’s Washington Post that mentioned my name.
I can’t explain this organization any better than they do on their own website, so if you’re interested, please take a look.
While I have never experienced the loss of a child personally, I can only imagine how difficult and tragic it would be. My hope is that the images I take for these families can help them heal, and bring them a little peace.
Many volunteer activities I get to do are exciting and full of laughter and revolve around a fun activity. This, however, is something I do because I know it is needed and helps families deal with their grief. Whenever I come home from a session, I have a very, very heavy heart, and I think about that child, what their future would have been, how the family will be a week from now, a month, a year after their passing. I remember their names and I think about them often.
I hope you will all take a look at this organization, and if you can, make a donation- it’s NILMDTS’s Annual Fund Drive. You can learn more and donate here.
Again, thank you to everyone who e-mailed and called- it means a lot!
