Nina & Todd- Washington, DC Spring Wedding At Hotel Palomar

“Hi, you must be the father of the bride- I’m Mary Kate, it’s so nice to meet you.”
“Hi, I’m just happy!”
That was pretty much the tone of the entire day.  I had a smile plastered on all Saturday, and it didn’t leave my face until I went to bed.
Nina and Todd are just so cool.  Stylish, laid-back, loving, kind, and they have great friends and family.  When I met with Nina a few months back, I just knew that this wedding was going to be one of my favorites, and it was.
The day began for the bride at Hotel Palomar, which is an all-time fave of mine.  It was a great place to get ready.  The ceremony was held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, a lovely church on Capitol Hill.  After a few family portraits, Nina and Todd and I hopped in the limo and headed out into DC to do some some photos.
First off, let me say… is this really August?!  Yesterday brought a breeze and a day in the 80’s.  This made walking around DC so much better!  My favorite spot we went, which I had never been to for wedding photos, was the National Gallery of Art.  Wow!  It totally rocked!  Nina and Todd love art, so it just made sense to go there.  And everyone was sooooo nice.  Yay!
Then it was back to Hotel Palomar for a great reception that brought many wonderful Italian traditions to life, including cutting the veil and passing out almonds.  There were sweet speeches and dances, lots of laughing, and some very tasty food.
There are a lot of people to thank for making my job so much fun yesterday, but a big hug goes out to Tracy Timmester for shooting with me.  It’s always a good time!
