On Thursday I got to photograph a fun event at the Liberian Embassy. The event was held by the country of Liberia and Mercy Ships for the newest player of our beloved Redskins, Malcolm Kelly.
If you’ve never heard of Mercy Ships, you should check them out. Not only are they a great organization that brings hope and health to so many who need it, but the people who run and organize it are nice as can be. I really enjoyed being at this event!
And I hope to one day to document some of the miracles that go on through Mercy Ships- maybe in Liberia!
Malcolm Kelly is an incredible guy. Not only is he an amazing athlete, but is one of the most put together, well-spoken 21 year-olds I have ever met. Seriously, this kid is a shining star. Malcolm recently traveled to Monrovia, Liberia with Mercy Ships to see their fantastic work in action. When he returned, he declared that Mercy Ships would be his designated charity… he’s now working on getting sponsors to help him donate money to Mercy Ships every time he scores a touchdown for the Redskins. How many 21 year-old NFL superstars do that? I mean, really! I am so impressed with this kid!
A big thank you to Mercy Ships, the Embassy of Liberia, and the Redskins- what a night!
