When I met Laura and her bridesmaids at the beautiful Brome Howard Inn, it was like meeting a group of friends I’d always had, like friends from a dorm. I loved being there and seeing the day come together- Laura had done so many special things for the wedding- so many little details. It was like the wedding I haven’t had yet 🙂
Since Laura and Drew are from North Carolina, we had to some southern things, one of them being bridal portraits- I had so much fun! Laura is gorgeous and fun and was great to work with. We got some great shots.
As the bridal party made their way out to the ceremony, thunder could be heard in the background. And then it got windy. In my head I kept thinking, OK, so if/when it starts pouring, who is going to be the first person to bust out of their chair and make a run for the tent? But that never happened. The rain when around us, and we welcomed the cooler weather without the raindrops.
The reception was one of my favorites of all time. The band was, simply put, awesome. I had heard about The Jangling Reinharts, but had never heard them play- WOW. Like, seriously, WOW. Even I wanted to dance. They played songs not typically on the wedding song docket, and totally rocked it. And such nice guys, too. I really hope some of my future couples give ’em a look and book them! [hint hint!]
So everyone danced, all night. It was so fun to photograph all the smiles and laughing and crazy moves on of dance floor.
When I got in the car for the two hour drive back to Silver Spring, the first thing I did was call Jaime and gush about the wedding. And then she gushed about hers. We chatted about how much we love photographing weddings for nearly the entire ride back. That’s how I know this is what I’m supposed to do.
L&D- thank you so much. Enjoy your honeymoon in Nantucket!
