Kim + Ron were married in a lovely, intimate ceremony in Easton, MD, and then celebrated with their family and friends with a backyard barbecue in Frederick, MD. With a focus on delicious food, their wedding planner, Amy B. Benton, had this to say:
We wanted to create a relaxed atmosphere for the bride and groom who were both remarrying. The groom’s family has roots in Kansas City so a back yard/Kansas City barbecue seemed like a perfect fit. We wanted the event to have an elegant feel so we took traditional barbecue fare, and spiced it up. Making barbecue sliders, let the guest nibble without having to worry about the mess. It was important to carry the bride’s Maryland roots into the theme so we added some Old Bay to the corn on the cob and made sure that we served crab as well. The guests also enjoyed the bride and groom’s take on a whiskey sour, renamed for our event, A Kansas City Sour. What better way to finish the night with pie, our version pie pops. Pie on a stick!
