Kids Are Heroes Holiday Benefit Shoot: Day 1
I am a very lucky girl. I get to do what I love, what I have an absolute passion for, everyday. It’s my JOB. Sometimes (OK, most of the time!) it’s hard to believe that this is what I get to do. When I started my business, I vowed to give back. And one way I can give back is using my photography as a fundraiser.
And that’s exactly what I did in November. I had the idea of doing a fast-paced holiday photo shoot to raise money for Kids are Heroes. Families would be able to get their holiday photos done and also be able to donate to Kids are Heroes. Fab!
…but we didn’t have much time. It was only two weeks till Christmas when Gabe (co-founder of Kids are Heroes) and I brainstormed and we didn’t know quite how many would turn out. We had a week to do this!
But thanks to Twitter, Facebook and the always fabulous word of mouth, we were jammed packed. In fact, we had to add another day to our benefit shoot to accommodate all the families who wanted to come!
On Saturday we had 15 families join us. It was a blast doing rapid-fire photo sessions of so many kids! 20 minutes isn’t a lot of time to capture a family, but I think we accomplished it.
I’ll be posting the Sunday sessions tomorrow!
