Kevin & Rachel: The Wedding of the Year in Chesterton, Indiana

It’s hard to figure out what to write about this wedding- Kevin and Rachel are dear friends of mine and it was so great to see them finally get hitched.
The hardest part of the day wasn’t taking photos, but watching them both get emotional and not totally lose it myself!  I have never seen Kevin cry and to see him teary-eyed as he gave his vows and at the first dance was soooo hard! But I managed, and had a great time.
I do need to thank a few people- first off, my best friend Marissa, who was of great help!  She was my light tester, my go-to girl, and navigator.  I also need to thank Ben Poenisch, who was my 2nd shooter for the day.  I met him a few years ago at another wedding in Chesterton (at the same venue, too!) and he said he was interested in weddings.  We kept in touch and I asked him to come with me to this wedding.  He totally rocked it out!  So congrats to him for doing such a good job AND for graduating from IUPUI a few weeks ago.
After the ceremony at the gorgeous Valparaiso University Chapel, we did some fun formals and then headed off to the reception… which was insane!  A band, a DJ, and HUNDREDS of their friends.  350+.  So much dancing and laughing.  It was crazy being at a wedding where I knew so many of the guests.
Kevin and Rachel… I love you guys.  You two are so amazing and I am so glad I got to be a part of your wedding.  Enjoy your honeymoon in Scotland!
So much hair, so little time!
Love the rings!
Mike and Adam
Last minute details… Rachel’s dress and Cole going over his best man speech
Love this… nice catch, Ben!
Brothers…
This picture is *so* Cole- his speech was hilarious!
In the middle of the speech, Cole went over and slapped (not hard!) Adam-  I loved his reaction
There was a cake fight and nice dancing
Awwwwh, Kevin 🙂
This pretty much sums up the dancing.
Killer shot by Ben during the last song of the night, which was after 1am!
