Breaking Up is Hard To Do…
Kind of sad after so many years, but it was time.
I was ready for something new and different.
I was giving, but never getting anything back.
We had a communication problem.
We wanted different things.
I needed something more.
I needed to find myself.
We became too different over the years.
Truth be told, my parents didn’t even approve of you.
I just had to move on…
It’s true. I’m breaking up with Pictage, the company that has hosted all of my images since 2004.
It’s a slow, painful breakup. The kind where you have to go back to their apartment and find all your sweaters and books. It’s going to take awhile. (don’t worry, I get the dogs!)
And, just so you know, I’ve met someone else. And boy are they dreamy! Actually, we’ve known each other for awhile, about six years. But we were just casual friends, nothing serious. I would upload personal photos to Smugmug
, but that’s it. Over the years we have spent a lot of quality time together, and I loved how they listened to me, always did the right thing, and always returned my calls.
Like I said, this breakup isn’t a clean one- I’m in the process of moving all of my 2009 events over to Smugmug. Anything from 2008 and earlier will only be uploaded to Smugmug upon request (please e-mail me!).
So, this is just a head’s up. I’ll be e-mailing all of my former clients shortly, as I get everything online. Patience, grasshopper.
For now, all events currently open on Pictage.com are still open, and will be until at least mid-October, so no worries, you will still be able to view all your events.
This post is silly and dramatic, but in all honesty, this was a tough decision. I’m doing what’s best for my clients and also best for my business. There will be things I will miss, but this is totally for the better.
