There’s nothing better than finding a friend.

Earlier this week I had the honor of meeting Amy and her rescues.
Her bond with her animals was something I see in only a handful of owners.
Total devotion, trust, and respect. Something extra.
I had a wonderful time documenting their sweet little lives.
Bella, her dog, has had a rough beginning to life.
But now she’s safe and comfortable in a wonderful home.
I wanted to tell the story of Bella the dog and asked Amy to share it with you:
Bella was found on the side of a highway in Baltimore. Someone called animal control to remove a dead animal and when they got there she was still breathing. She was taken to a shelter that was unfortunately a kill shelter where she was labeled as “unadoptable” because she was so emaciated and sick. A rescue organization out of Silver Spring (Lizzy’s Lodge) comes to save pets when they are at these shelters and when they have available space with their volunteers. One took a chance on Bella. They bring their animals to different adoption events in the area to try to find them homes. I met Bella when I was picking up cat food at petsmart. She looked so pitiful but had the goofiest smile and purple polka-dotted tongue and I couldn’t resist asking who she belonged to. They asked if I was interested in her and I couldn’t say no. She needed me to give her shots for a few months, was on weight gainers, anitbiotics, and several supplements to get her healthy again. But here she is. Healthy and happy as I could have ever hoped for and one of the very best things in my life 🙂
And I had to get a few of her rescue kitties, too!
But on to the star of the show- Bella!
