A Very Special Mohegan Baby Blessing
I had the absolute honor of photographing a very special baby blessing on Saturday. It was special for many reasons, one of them being this darling baby, JT, is the son of Heather, someone I worked with when I attended American U. She was always so supportive of everything I did. In fact, I even did her engagement photos, some of the first I ever did!
JT is one of those babies I want to stick in my camera bag and take home with me. Always smiling, so alert and so stinkin’ happy! I don’t usually ask to hold the babies I photograph, but I COULD NOT HELP MYSELF, people! I had him in my arms and totally gobbled those little cheeks up. Not even kidding. I adore this kid!
Not only was the day special because this little guy has great parents, but because it was a Mohegan Blessing. Heather’s background is of the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, and wanted JT to begin his journey with them. It was a honor to be able to be present at the ceremony and to meet so many wonderful people who wish the best for this little guy.
JT in full regalia… how cute is this little nugget?!
Part of the ceremony… presenting JT with some gifts
This guy is so sweet!
This is the only shot I have of JT crying… he cried for maybe two seconds and then stopped!
OK, this was just toooo funny!
Two cuties at the party!
