The Little Sister I Never Wanted

I never wanted a sister.

In college I babysat a little girl named Shannon.  She was cute, silly and laughed a lot…. for the first week.

…and then we fought.  Like sisters.

But things got better, and we ended up becoming best buds.  Shannon will always be my little sister, and I love when I get to hang out with her.

I am having a hard time believing that she is going to be a FRESHMAN IN HIGHSCHOOL.  As she would say- “OMG!”

But seriously.  Shannon is 14, and I cannot believe it.

When I picked her up today, she wasn’t little anymore.  In fact, she’s taller than me.  She doesn’t look like a kid anymore, but she’s still silly and laughs a lot.

Before she had even buckled her seatbelt we were already talking about boys- some things never change! 🙂  And then I learned all about the Jonas Brothers… they are the equivalent to what N*Sync and Backstreet Boys were to me [I went to an N*Sync concert and three BSB concerts…] and my friends.  But she’s crazed for these boys and I think it’s so cute!

I’m looking forward to hanging out with Shannon more often than I have the past few years and having a little sister to tease and learn all the latest lingo and pop culture from.  🙂

Shannon is an incredibly talented rider and I love her interaction with her horses- here she is with Ally
