Jennifer & Rich- Chevy Chase, Maryland

Jennifer and Rich are two of the most thoughtful people you will ever meet. And the sweetest! And they aren’t sweet just because they had Cake Love cupcakes and all sorts of other goodies, either! Their vows, their friends, and the overall vibe of the day showcased their good nature. Everyone was incredibly nice and wonderful.

The Day started out at the Bethesda Hyatt where they got ready. Kim Steele did Jenn’s makeup and hair (as well as the Mom’s) and did a great job- I love doing weddings with her. After getting ready we headed to the Woodend for the big day.

The clouds parted and the sun shone down on the ceremony that included Jenn & Rich’s best friends and family. The two highlights of the ceremony: Jenn and Rich’s vows. WOW. Blew everyone away! Not a dry eye in the house! Many times I am too busy snapping away to listen, but these were just so beautiful that I had to keep my ears open.

The other great part of the ceremony had to do with a little four year-old named Jackson. Oh, Jackson. I think I would have taken him home with me if I could have. He totally stole my heart! While the celebrant was explaining how the couple had met, he mentioned they had chatted at a dessert party held by a friend. With the audience in complete silence, listening intently to the story, Jackson blurts out with perfect comedic timing, “A DESSERT PARTY!?” It was hard to breathe it was so funny!

After the sweet ceremony, we did some formals and then got right to the toasting. Again, some of the sweetest words I’ve ever heard at a wedding. Both sets of parents had some wonderful words of wisdom. Jenn’s grandmother also spoke some touching words. And then one of the groomsmen had the guests rolling in the aisles with his “e-mail” toast, which was just too funny!

Since it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, many guests chose to roam around outside Woodend, but many also chose to cut a rug on the dance floor. When the party began to wind down, little Jackson came up to me and told me he was a better dancer than I was- well, I wasn’t going to have any of that! So I spun him around a few times till he was dizzy and that was that 🙂

Jenny and Rich, thank you for letting us be a part of your incredibly sweet day. Enjoy your honeymoon in Argentina!

me with Jackson (thanks, Kim!)
