Janet & Tony- Wheaton, Maryland

Janet and Tony really lucked out with the weather- it wasn’t 400 degrees out! 🙂

Their ceremony was held at the beautiful Brookside Gardens in Wheaton. I love this place and have taken many many pictures here- if you’ve never been, I highly suggest you try and make it out this summer- the colors are amazing and there are too many butterflies to count- it’s perfect for a short or long walk, or even jogging.

The couple said their vows in front of their closest friends and family. Tony read a wonderful poem by ee cummings… I’ll post it at the bottom of this entry, because it’s so sweet!

And then we spent some time in the gardens and conservatory taking pictures- Tony and Janet had some great places in the gardens staked out.

After some pictures we headed to Rockville to Far East for their reception. Before the tasty food was served, there was a traditional Lion Dance performed- WOW! It was so cool! The lion (but he looks like a dragon) dances around the room, teasing guests and getting everyone excited. He then went up to the head table where the bride and groom presented him with a bunch of lettuce with the check inside the traditional red envelope. The lion took it, spit out the lettuce, kept the check, and was on his way. It was really fun!

And of course, they had to kiss under the double happiness kanji!

J&T, It was really great to be a part of your special day- best wishes to you and have a blast on your honeymoon!

I Carry Your Heart With Meee cummings

I carry your heart with me

(I carry it in my heart)

I am never without it

(anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)

I fear no fate

(for you are my fate, my sweet)

I want no world

(for beautiful you are my world, my true)

and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is youhere is the deepest secret nobody knows

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the budand the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which growshigher than soul can hope or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)
